Day 24 – Myrtle Beach, SC to Carolina Beach, NC

On the calmest of mornings, we pushed away from the fuel dock and headed for Carolina Beach, NC! Woot! Another State! Except for the guy fishing in the middle of a very small channel, this is how to start a day of cruising!

It was an enjoyable travel day. Not too windy, no waves or currents to deal with, the boat operated in “normal”, not “needy” mode. So, yeah, a good day!

The Carolina Beach marina basin was very protected and had a good set of mooring balls. We decided to give them a try. It was time to exercise the dinghy. Note: I wanted to use the more common boat term, “dink”…Teri said no!

Tying to the mooring ball was a new experience. Turns out the process is quite simple. We had no issues and it was more peaceful than a squeaky marina dock with nearby neighbors.

Carolina Beach is a quaint and classic seaside town with a nice beach, of course.  We dipped our feet in the ocean and cruised the sites. Nothing culinary caught our attention so we went back to our boat for pasta.

The next morning we got up earlier than usual to make the long run to Beaufort, NC, affording ourselves a two night stay! The morning was so nice I flew the drone before leaving. Love those drone shots!!
