We started this adventure on April 5th and arrived at Norfolk May 5th. Our NEBO logging app says we traveled 1,445 nautical miles or 1,663 regular miles, to get here. Hours underway was 131. I need to say, our experiences are not at all captured by those numbers!!
The AGLCA Rendezvous took place at the Marriott across the road from the preferred marina – Waterside. Our marina was across the river and required a very convenient Ferry ride. Unfortunately, a couple weeks ago, the Waterside Ferry dock was closed for repair which dumped on our plan to save money by adding a fun Ferry ride. Now, we have a 15-20 minute walk on both sides of the Ferry. We enjoyed using the Lime scooters once, Uber a few times and one of the presenters gave us the use of their Jeep – a super nice gesture. All good.
We made friends with other Loopers and learned all too much about the many, many travel options and decisions we’ll need to make in order to arrive at our destination in Georgian Bay. Information overload!
Meanwhile, Libby and Dean are beginning their excellent adventure moving to Sweden! No guts no glory! Go Libby and Dean!! And in other news, our first grandchild, Eli, just posted a three month report card – all A+’s!! Can’t wait to see him and his parental units in a couple weeks! All the while, our freedom to enjoy sea sledding towards Canada wouldn’t be possible without the peace of mind which comes from knowing our real home is being well cared for by Team Aly and Matt! So much we are thankful for!!!
